For Comment: Weekend in the Smokies

Every year, we try to visit the GSMNP at least three times. Despite the season, the weather, etc., it's always a fun, brief getaway. Exploring, hiking, or photoshoots inside the park boundaries is soothing to the soul. But, visiting areas outside the park is crowded, cluttered and chaotic...but can be photographically interesting none-the-less. Here are a few images from last weekend:

Franklin Cemetery Halloween

This last set I used some ghost brushes from Jessica Drossin to make a Halloween version just for fun. Happy Halloween!

Franklin Cemetery Outing...

When you've photographed Franklin's historic cemeteries many, many times, it gets very difficult to come up with something "new" and interesting. I starting this post by writing captions for each image. But then I realized that anything I might say about any of the them was inappropriate or unnecessary. I'd rather let the images speak for themselves. However, I have trouble wrapping my head around the fact that some people were buried in this cemetery about 225 years ago--even before Tennessee became a state.

Franklin Outing

In trying to update the photos I posted right after our outing, I've hit "error" messages, and so will leave these three here, and try to create a new post with the other photos.  Sorry for the discombobulation.
