For Comment: Image made with mystery Sakar 28-80mm lens bought at church thrift shop on Hilton Head Island for $10. Not much on internet about the company accept: Sakar is an American importer that since 2008 has owned the Vivitar name. Says made in Japan on body. While Sakar claims to be a manufacturer – just like Vivitar and Soligor -- the products they distribute are manufactured by other companies.
