I took this challenge to mean something along the lines of minimalism, where the idea is simple, the story direct, there aren't "extra notes. " A recent "Daily Photo Tips" blog listed 4 common tips
1. Negative Space
2. A single strong focal point
3. Black & White
4. Textures & Contrast (so the minimalist image doesn't become boring)
That last tip in particular intrigued me, so here's my response:
