I took this picture with my phone and sent it to my kids to give them an idea of the level of humidity we have been dealing with.  After looking at it for a while and seeing all the shapes (squares, rectangles triangles and semi-circle) I decided I really liked the image.

It seems to me that you can only take the same picture of the same thing so many times before it becomes mundane.  I've been taking pictures of my gloriosa every year since I moved here and even though I had  a bumper crop this year, the subject has, in my mind, become mundane.

Not sure the image itself is mundane, but it seems to me that the job could become so after a while.

Mundane

Mundane: lacking interest or excitement; dull.
Ordinary: not different or special or unexpected in any way; usual: normal, everyday.

Since others are commenting on the assignment, I thought I'd update mine with my comments. I believe in the beauty of the ordinary and felt that maybe the unexpressed intent of the exercise, as photographers, was to find an interesting way to photograph what others saw as uninteresting as a way of seeing more deeply. I think that is the gift of photography, to see things in a new way.

I had existing images that I thought accomplished this goal, so I used what I already had and liked.  The prompt did not state taking new images, so I re-used old ones.
